O que “DAMN” quer dizer?

DAMN!
Palavra usada para exprimir intensidade; maldito, desgraçado.

You damn fool!
Seu maldito idiota!

Cf. GOD DAMN: o que essa gíria ofensiva significa?

Usa-se 'damn' em várias expressões, como:

Damn it/you/them etc.!
Dane(m)-se!

I don’t give/care a damn.
Eu não ligo a mínima.

It isn’t worth a damn.
Isso não vale nada.

You know damn well I don’t like him.
Você sabe muito bem que eu não gosto dele.

Para ficar menos grosseiro, pode-se usar 'darn' em vez de 'damn'.

Observation Class 05 [July 02nd, 2016] Exercise

A customer had problems with their order last weekend.
How did they explain the following situations?
A) Explaining events:
After ordering my deal, I laid the table to wait for it at 7pm. It was way psast 9pm and no sign of my food so I decided to call the restaurant. I called them four times before they finally picked up. They only answered the phone way past 10pm.

Use: At 9pm... still... / By that time, I... hours, so... / I... already... before...

At 9pm They still hadn't delivered my order. By that time, I had been waiting for hours, so I decided to call them. I'd already called four times before they (finally) answering / picking up.

B) Explaining what was said:
The manager said: "I'm sorry but the delivery boy had a accident. We'll send you a voucher for a free meal. The delivery boy will arrive there in 20 minutes with your voucher."

Use: They said... / They said... / I... told...

They said the delivery boy had had an accident. They (also) said they would send (me) a voucher for a free meal. I was told the delivery boy would arrive in 20 minutes with the voucher.

C) Explaining consequences:
Finally, I placed an order in this other take-out place near my house. I paid another $15 for that meal. It was really annoying and complicated but I went there myself to pick up the food.

Use: I ended up... / ... cost... / I ha to... trouble...

I ended up ordering in this other take-out place near my house. It cost me another $15 for that meal. I had to dal with te trouble of getting it (by) myself.
