- Tem que ter artigo.

Aff.: There is an ugly girl over there. >> Tem uma garota feia ali.
Int.: Is there an ugly girl over there? >> Tem uma garota feia ali?
Neg.: There is not (isn't) an ugly girl over there. >> Não tem um garota feia ali.

THERE ARE & THERE ARE NOT (AREN'T)
- Usa-se no present e plural.
- Não há artigo.
- Há/Existem
 
Aff.: There are many old magazines on the coffee table. >> Há muitas revistas velhas na mesa de centro.
Int.: Are there many old magazines on the coffee table? >> Há muitas revistas velhas na mesa de centro?
Neg.: There are (aren't) many old magazines on the coffee table. >> Não há muitas revistas velhas na mesa de centro.
